Growing Pains

Being a BAD Mutha-you-know-what has it's down sides
Knowing the reality of being an educated blackman can bite
Hurt and be painful, but I have to survive
I have to thrive, love is on the way in my site
Gotta keep moving on, staying strong, writting songs
This pain won't subside fully until I'm dead and gone
In the meantime, I won't stop until I'm the wisest and greatest King
Like Soloman in the Bible, within my own existance I'll gleam
Shine, the world will be mine, with my thick skin I won't budge
When I rise, I'll know enough to know I don't know much
Ambition & passion is all of me, living real, logically
Making chess moves, a persistent winner like I was born to be
With all these thoughts I write, the ink stains the page
Don't believe all I read, I breathe, enduring these growing pains...
